I don't have a car, how can I get to Whitefish Mountain Resort?
The Lodge at Whitefish Lakes offers many options throughout the day to get to and from the mountain via our Lodge Shuttle or the S.N.O.W. Bus for free.
How do I get around the mountain once I'm there?
Whitefish Mountain Resort offers Ambassador Tours to help orient you to the mountain and to help with any other needs you may have. For more info CLICK HERE.
Can I get a ride to downtown Whitefish?
The Lodge offers downtown shuttle service to & from our sister property, The Firebrand Hotel & Restaurant enabling you to explore our resort town. The shuttle departs The Lodge at the top of the hour, every two hours from 8a-4p and every hour from 5p-11p. Return departures from The Firebrand run 10 minutes past the hour.
The S.N.O.W. Bus also offers service to and from downtown Whitefish.
What if I want to travel beyond downtown Whitefish or to Glacier National Park?
If you're looking for winter adventures outside of Whitefish, you will either need to rent a car or hire a guide or transport.

Whitefish Outfitters & Tours offers guided tours to Whitefish area trails or can even plan a trip for a ski day in Fernie, BC. Custom charters are available. Call 406.212.0080
Where can I rent skis?
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake has partnered with several area ski shops so you can spend more time riding and less time worrying about your gear:
- Black Tie Skis | Performance & Premium Ski and Snowboard Packages from top-of-the-line brands, delivered to the comfort of your accommodations at The Lodge at a time that's convenient for you!
- Velvet Rope Rentals | Delivers to The Lodge.
- Great Northern Cycle & Ski | Performance demo skis in downtown Whitefish.
- Whitefish Mountain Resort | Base Lodge & WMR Village Locations. Pick up rentals the morning of your first day of skiing (based on availability).
I'm bringing my own skis and would like to ship them. What are my options?
Save yourself the hassle of transporting skis through airports! Our concierge will receive and hold your skis and place them in your guest room on your arrival day.
1. Send your skis via UPS or FedEx.
- Don't forget to purchase a pre-paid label to return your skis back to you after departure.
- When labeling, be sure to include the guest name your Lodge room reservation is under OR include the 6-digit Reservation number. EXAMPLE:

- When prompted, be sure to provide the last name affiliated with the reservation, your scheduled check-in date, and your reservation number.
- Allow for the weather, plan to have your skis arrive 3 business days before your arrival day.
- Alert our Concierge Desk that you will be shipping skis (send the Reservation # and tracking # if able) and they will be on the lookout. [email protected]
- Please note that there is a fee for holding packages for arrival, $5 for the first package, $10 for each additional.
