2.) Fall Foliage....The Whitefish mountainsides hit their most colorful time in fall as the larch and aspen turn a bright yellow to gold color and contrast sharply against the dark evergreens. This sweet spot in time is a favorite of photographers, professional and amateur alike.
3.) Oktoberfest....An annual two weekend event the Whitefish-Oktoberfest is not one to miss! 4.) Canadian Thanksgiving.... Why would Whitefish be the place to come for a Canadian holiday? Because every holiday should be treated as a vacation! But in Whitefish you can still enjoy the holiday as the Lodge’s own Boat Club Restaurant serves up a turkey dinner! Back by popular demand you can have your turkey and eat it too Thursday, October 4th- Monday, October 8th.
5.) Glacier National Park/Going to the Sun Road.... Fall is the best time of year to visit Glacier National Park if you’re looking to avoid the crowds! Going to the Sun Road is closed from Avalanche Creek to Logan’s Pass to vehicle traffic-making it ideal for biking and walking in peace with some of the best views in the world. 6.) Halloween....Have you ever wanted to celebrate a holiday with an entire town? Halloween in downtown Whitefish is the one! The downtown area fills with children and teens at 4pm when all of the businesses starting to hand out treats. Evening fills with adults as there is a town-wide costume contest with judges located in each of the downtown bars! Prime time people watching!
7.) Black Friday Shopping....Where can you get quaint boutique shops close by big box stores? Whitefish, MT! The Lodge concierge has store locations and information available.
8.) Live Music & Theater....The arts come alive as the summer settles down. 9.) Fly Fishing....Fall fly fishing is a great activity for the Flathead Valley-the mornings and evenings are a bit cool but sun warms the water up by mid morning and the fish start biting!
