February 6th, 2014 at 11:32am

Welcome to the newest unit at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake: the Viking Creek Luxury Cabin, a two bedroom vacation rental located 1/4 mile from the Lodge! With more cabins to come in the future, this new area will boast luxury, vacation rental accommodations that are available for rent through the Lodge at Whitefish Lake. While the cabins are not located right at the Lodge, they do provide access to all of the amenities of the Lodge including the lakefront pool and hot tub.

The first cabin rental became available in January and already has limited availability over the summer months! This luxury cabin includes high-tech touches like an iPad to control everything from the surround sound to fireplace. The walk-in shower is complete with multiple shower heads, custom massage, music and light settings. To top is off, the cabin comes complete with a built-in espresso machine always stocked with The Lodge's own Coffee Dock Espresso blend to recharge you after a day on the slopes!

INDOOR POOL & HOT TUB
Coming in Summer of 2014 is a new indoor pool and hot tub located at the Viking Lodge directly across Wisconsin Avenue from the Main Lodge. Along with 16 new guest rooms, and a bigger and better fitness facility, the new indoor pool is sure to wow as it offers views into the Viking Creek Wetland Preserve.

VIKING CREEK WETLAND PRESERVE Between the Viking Lodge and Viking Creek Luxury Cabins lies the Viking Creek Wetland Preserve, a 30 acre preserve in place to protect the water that flows into Whitefish Lake. This land was donated to the Whitefish Lake Institute by the Averill Family in 2009 as a way to protect the Viking Creek water quality. In 2013 the Whitefish Lake Institute opened the Interpretive Nature Trails with a main entrance located right by the new luxury cabins and another behind the Viking Lodge, a third trail access takes you to Crestwood Park. Fourteen interpretive stations provide about the flora and fauna located within the preserve.

The Viking Creek Interpretive Nature Trails are a perfect way to explore the great outdoors without having to get in your car! Stroll from the Viking Lodge trail head all the way to Crestwood Park or make a quick loop, either way the wooden planked path makes it a pleasant walk. The Nature Trail is also a perfect way to explore our winter wonderland! The trail is marked with candy-canes starting from the Viking Lodge trail head.
